Happy New Year

I wish you all the very best for 2015. Hopefully it will see the house completed and inhabited! Sidney visited the site early in the New Year and brought his favourite Christmas present – a new camera. He was keen to take photos of the house for grandad. The two photos below were both taken with his camera.

Sid is very adventurous on the scaffolding, not afraid of heights. Just like his Dad used to be at that age.

Three generations – all a bit crazy!

With regard to the house, most tradesmen have only started back at work on the 5th.  I went in between Christmas and New Year and did a few jobs – including making a temporary door so that the house is now secure. The electrician started first fix on Monday so we are edging forwards inside as well as out. Steve and the roofers have pretty much finished now and they have done a super job.

The details look very nice, but like most roofs in the Thames valley it will quickly develop a weathering coat and some moss.

  1. Looking good, must be very reassuring to know how sound all the fundamentals are. I guess this is where the fun starts as you gradually complete all the hard work basics and move on to the interior. It is a fine looking house.

  2. Fantastic progress Mick.
The roof tiles make such a difference, and the other priority is clearly the sky dish, maybe if Chris is still waiting for the first film showing he will not need to wait much longer. Sidney looks very excited and cute too.

Keep it going, see you soon.
